Mahindra Diesel Generators

The generators come in different ratings and you can choose the Diesel Generating set to suit your Load requirements for Standby Power Generation. If you have unbalanced Load conditions on 3 Phases you must use 1 Phase Alternator and if you have Balanced Load on 3 Phases you must use 3 Phase Generators. Single Phase Generator is easily configured for 3 Phase Load. In unbalance Load Conditions the generators may start hunting if it is 3 Phase Generator.

Mahindra is an approved vendor for standby power generation of BTS sites.

All Diesel Generator installations require site planning and the installation company must know:

1. Exact power requirement under peak load in KVA/KW.

2. Noise tolerance both in the building and in the neighbor-hood.

3. Mains supply fluctuation range.

4. Location of the Diesel Generator with adequate free space.

5. Indoor or outdoor installation.

6. Earthing available and required.

7. Vibration tolerance levels.

Recom's Experience is that every site requires different planning for standby generation of power be it for hospital, shopping mall, home, factory or any other installation.

Normally two earths are required at every DG Set installation site. These earths must be separated by a distance of more than 1 meter minimum. one earth is connected to the body of the Diesel Generator and another to the Neutral terminal of the alternator.

Besides these a Manual switch of adequate rating is required to by pass diesel generator for maintenance or fault.

Mains may require stabilizers servo or automatic to correct the incoming power supply. These stabilizers must have HRC series fuses to cut off the supply in event of a short circuit on the load.

If an AMF Panel is installed make sure that Battery charging is on during the idle period so that Battery is charged to give cranking power to the diesel engine.

Diesel engines require servicing by the authorized service provider at regular intervals, normally at 250 hours of operation.

For 3 Phase unbalanced load it is preferable to use single phase alternator and for balance load 3 phase alternator must be used.

For Sound Proofing a Canopy is used to dampen the sound and some other precautions are required for sound proofing.
